Part 19 I had fast asleep by about midnight. I was so used to going to sleep at 10:30 or 11 and waking up at 5:30 in the morning that staying up later wasn't even an option. I was abruptly awoken by the sound of "The Taste of Ink" by the Used blaring out of my cell phone. I jumped up and grabbed it. "Hello?" I mumbled sleepily into the mouthpiece. "Hey," Tre said. "Did I wake you?" "Yeah," I sighed. "Sorry. If you want you can go back to sleep and I can just go home," he said. "Nah," I sighed. "So, what's up?" "I'm at Mike's house. I'm going to walk over to your house." "How about this? How about you go to the park. It's right on the other side of my backyard, so I could do that pretty easily," I suggested. "Okay," he said. "When?" "Twenty minutes," I said. "See you then." I hung up and grabbed a pair of jeans from my closet and my Charlie and the Chocolate Factory shirt. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, grabbed my purse and made as little noise as possible as I snuck out onto the patio and across the backyard, over the fence, and into the park. Tre stood by the softball field, looking tired. "So, what is it you needed to see me at one in the morning for?" I asked. "I was bored and I figured you wanted to hang out," he said. "Are you fucking kidding me? If my parents find out, they'll kill me. And I don't want to get killed just cause I was hanging out with Tre," I groaned. "You worry too much about your parents killing you." "Well, my mom would do this guilt thing about how she had no idea where I was and she thought I was dead," I sighed. "Would they prefer to find a boy in your bedroom?" he asked. "Probably," I said, telling by the expression on his face that we were now headed to my house. We walked silently through the grass and to the fence. We were as silent as humanly possible as we headed through the house and into my room. I shut the door and sat on my still-made bed. Tre sat next to me, then leaned forward and pressed his lips against mine. We lay there, making out for a few seconds. I felt Tre's hand slide across my stomach and began messing with my belt. I pushed him off, scared out of my mind. What was I going to say? So I said the first thing I could think of. "My dad's right down the hallway," I said. "Oh, are you a screamer?" Tre asked. I just blinked at him and he laughed. "I'm sorry," he said, sitting up and leaning against the pillows. "It's okay," I said, not sure what else could be said.
I woke up the next morning at about nine to the sound of the phone ringing. I ignored it and rolled over in bed to see Tre, sound asleep next to me. Shit, my mom would come in and see this and I would be as dead as I would've been if I'd gotten caught sneaking out. "Tre!" I said in a fierce whisper, shaking him. "Huh?" he asked. "It's 9 in the morning." "Shit," he said. "Come here," I said, getting up and dragging him to my closet. I opened it up and revealed a small compartment in the wall where I normally just shoved journals or clothes or stuff. "Get in there," I instructed, removing a t-shirt that lay inside. "You have a boy-hiding compartment?" he asked. "Yes. Now get in." "Will I fit?" He struggled to get inside but finally did. I dropped the shirt I was holding into the hamper, then told him to stay silent and went out to inspect what was going on. Mom was on the patio, on the phone. Dad was mowing the lawn in the backyard. I went back to my room, singing R. Kelly's "Trapped In The Closet Ch. 1" as I walked. "Tre," I said, coming back into my room. "You're going to have to go through the front door. Try not to let the neighbors see you." He nodded, humming the Mission Impossible theme as he climbed out of my closet. He kissed me goodbye, still humming, and went out into the family room. I watched through my bedroom window as he opened the front door and left. He went around to the side of my house and disappeared. Where he was going was beyond me, but whatever works. I went out to the family room and locked the front door behind him. There was never a dull moment with Tre.

Part 20 Monday rolled around far too fast. After spending the weekend with either Tre, Zack or Jade, all the time, time just seemed to fly by. Zack and I sat in the car in silence on the way to school, as we usually did. We got there and I searched for Jade and Morgan. I wasn't surprised to find Morgan hanging out with Sid and Jade talking to Larin. Neither of them saw me when I waved at them, so I went ahead to find Tre. He was hanging out at his locker, talking to some guy. "Hey," he said when he saw me. He slipped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him and continued this conversation with this guy about Green Day's next gig. "You guys are performing somewhere?" I interupted. "Yeah," Tre said. "Next Friday." "Sweet. Am I invited?" I questioned. "Duh," he laughed, then went back to talking to the guy. I stood there for a few minutes before the bell rang. I said bye to Tre, then headed to Spanish.
"Who's that guy?" Jade asked during Drama. It was one of the rare days that Tre wasn't in our drama class with us. A fairly cute guy was standing across the drama room, talking to Mr. Ming about something. "I don't know," I said, looking at him. "He's cute," Jade said. Then Mr. Ming began leading the guy over to us. "Guys? This is Nick Wheeler. He's here from California," he said. "Maybe he could work with you guys." "We don't have any more places in our scene," Steven growled. "Sure we do," I said. "You can join us." "Cool," Nick said. Jade was just blinking at him. She liked him. I could tell. If it weren't for the fact that I had Tre, I would've probably liked him too. "You know what I said about pairing up earlier?" Sid asked. "Forget Steven. Jade has someone else." "Huh?" asked Nick. "Nevermind," I said. "This is the scene we're doing." I handed the script to him. He looked over it for a second and nodded. We began rehearsing. Nick and Jade started talking about music, and then it was like neither of them were even there. I smiled. So Jade wouldn't be the fifth wheel with Morgan, Sid, Tre and I. This was always good.
"And he likes MCR and he plays the guitar. He was telling me all about his friends and how they were in a band called All-American Rejects. And now that he's moved he can't anymore, but as soon as he moves 18 he's moving back to California." Jade was just ranting about this guy. I nodded a lot. "Hey, I'm going to Dairy Queen," Tre said, approaching us. "You guys want anything?" "I do," Zack said, popping out of nowhere. "Can I have a blizzard?" "Sure. What about the ladies?" he asked. "A blizzard sounds good," Jade said, and I seconded the motion. He smiled and headed off. "Back to Nick," she mumbled, then I rolled my eyes.

Part 21 LATER... "Happy anniversary to us," Tre sang as he picked me up that morning. As of recently, Tre had been driving Zack and me to school, much to my protest, since it was totally out of his way. But he wouldn't listen. He would pick us up and take us home every day, without fail. And if he couldn't drive us, he would call Billie or Mike and have them drive us. "Two months, right?" Mike asked from the backseat. "Yup," Tre said, smiling at me. "I got you a present." "I told you not to get me anything," I said, horrified that he had gotten me something when I got him nothing. "We went through this last month, too." "Don't worry about it," he said, pulling out of the driveway. "Just enjoy your present." "What is it?" I asked. "The best kind of prize is a surprise," he said, laughing maniacly as he impersonated Johnny Depp. I just rolled my eyes at him. "Sometimes I wonder why I love you," I laughed, looking out the window and watching as we drove along the street, past the Food Lion (which I once accidentally called the Lion King and Tre taunted me for). We arrived at Zack's house not long after that. "Do you know what today is, Zack?" Tre asked. "Um, your birthday?" "No. That would be in December. Today is Dori and my two month anniversary," he announced. "I'm thrilled for you," Zack said, and Tre smiled. I just shook my head at him. Since the beginning of our relationship, lots of things had happened. Morgan and Sid had broken up...then gotten back together. Jade and Nick started dating. Zack had taken up learning to play the drums, something I had gotten jealous of, so Tre promised me that when Christmas time rolled around, free drum lessons would be my present from him. Zack and Juliya dated occasionally, but they weren't officially a couple or anything. Apparently, she wasn't into "commitment". It's funny how many things can happen in two months. Once I got to school, I kissed Tre goodbye and went ahead to Spanish so I could finish up my portfolio project, which was due that day. Mrs. Jones greeted me and I sat down, pulling the colored pencils out of my backpack and beginning to draw. The assignment was to make a postcard from some Spanish-speaking country that we had to pretend we were visiting. In Spanish, we had to write a breif letter to a friend or family member about what we had done since we arrived there. I didn't see the point, since none of my family and very few of my friends even spoke Spanish. But I wrote my letter to Zack. I don't know why. Tre got "mad" (not really, he was just being stupid and pretending to be mad) because I didn't write my letter to him, but whatever. I finished coloring and slipped it into my folder. "You finished?" Mrs. Jones asked, looking up from her desk. I nodded, pulling my iPod out of my backpack and slipping on my headphones for the last few minutes before the bell rang.
"What did he get you?" Jade asked when I mentioned the anniversary present Tre had mentioned. "I don't know yet," I said. The two of us sat in the courtyard during lunch. Tre had gone to Billie's house to practice (which was what he normally did for the 45 minutes of lunch), and Nick had second lunch, while Jade and I had first. Morgan was off with Sid, which Jade and I had kind of gotten used to. Larin hung out with Melissa, so it was mostly just the two of us. "Well, when he gives it to you, let me know." "Gives it to me? Oh crap, I think I discovered what it is," I said, feeling the weird nervous feeling in my stomach rising again. "What?" "Jade, I think he's going to give it to me," I said, hoping Jade was catching on. "Give what?" I sighed. "Jade, I think he wants to have sex." "Oh my God," she whispered, placing a hand over her mouth. "Really? Are you going to if he wants to?" "I don't know," I said, running my fingers through my hair. "I mean, I'm only 15. I'm too young to be having sex. But then again, there are 12 year olds that aren't virgins." "But that doesn't mean..." "Yeah. I promised myself that I wouldn't have actual sex until I graduated high school, at least," I said. "So I guess I won't." "Okay," Jade said. "And what if that's not it? What if you're just over-reacting?" "I hope I am," I said. "Cause that is something I just don't want to deal with now."

Part 22 "Here we are," Tre said. He was walking behind me, covering my eyes. Apparently this was quite a surprise, seeing as how he had blindfolded me, sat me in the backseat of his car, and had Zack and Mike watch me to make sure I didn't unblindfold myself. We had just gotten out of the car, and although I still had the blindfold over my eyes, he placed his hands over them. The nervous feeling filled my stomach and I could only imagine where we were. Probably in front of some cheap motel, if his present was what I assumed it was. "Can I look now?" I asked. "Not yet," he said. "Just wait." I heard some lady mumbled and felt someone run their hand down my leg. "Don't worry about that," Tre said. What was going on? I heard a door squeak and then I was hit with a horrific smell. The smell of sweat, booze and gasoline. Where was I? I heard lots of people talking, then heard some microphone feedback. "Testing," said a voice. "Here we go," Tre said, removing the blindfold. I squinted, blinded by the sudden light hitting my eyes. I looked around. There was Jade, smiling at me excitedly, while Morgan and Sid were busy talking to Mike. We were standing in the middle of a huge concrete floor. There were tons of people crowded around a stage ahead of us. There was a large backdrop behind the stage. A familiar image...the cover of "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" by My Chemical Romance. "Oh my God," I whispered. I was at an MCR concert. "OH MY GOD! Thank you!" I squealed, jumping up and throwing my arms around Tre's neck, embracing him in a kiss. "You are so amazing. But MCR isn't playing in Jacksonville tonight." "We're in Georgia," Tre said, laughing. "No fucking way," I laughed. "Holy shit. Does my mom know I'm in Georgia?" "She knew before we bought the tickets," said Billie, who had popped out of nowhere. Tre then began to explain that since our first month anniversary, he had been planning this. Jade, Morgan, Sid, and Zack had known about it too, and as a reward for keeping their mouths shut, they got to go to the concert. My mom had thought it was a great idea, so she didn't mind at all. And we all were going to stay at a hotel in Georgia that night, missing school the next day. "That doesn't sound like my mom," I said. "You can call and ask," Zack said. "But you have to room with Jade and not Tre." "Damn," I whispered, giggling. "Billie, you jackass, you left without me," said a voice. I turned around and there was Juliya, purple hair and all. She didn't seem like someone who would really like MCR, but I didn't care. "How'd you get here if I didn't drive you?" Billie asked. "Kara drove me," Juliya sighed. "Hey, Zack." She leaned on his shoulder, then looked up and kissed him. I looked at Billie, who appeared kind of jealous, but he didn't say a word. "Oh my God. I'm so excited," Jade squealed. "This is so awesome!" People continued to pack in around us, causing me to step on Tre's foot twice, smack Jade in the face, fall into Zack and Juliya, and have Billie elbow me in the boob...all before the show started. The lights suddenly went out and everyone began to scream. "Oh my God!" Jade and I yelled in unison as the band stepped onto the stage.

Part 23 "That...was...amazing," Jade said as people began to file out of the doors after the concert's end. "And it's not over," Tre sighed, smiling at me. "I know," Jade squealed. "Guess what, Dori!" "What?" I asked. It wasn't over? How could it get better? "Your boyfriend, the almighty, amazing Tre, got us backstage passes," she almost cried. "Oh my God, I'm kind of glad that Nick's not here, cause I don't want him to see my reaction to meeting Gerard." "Where is Nick?" Zack asked. "They started dating after I got the tickets," Tre said. "So we couldn't bring him." "That sucks," Billie said, although he'd never met Nick before in his life. "So, to the backstage we go," Tre directed. I was almost hyperventalating by now. I practically had to lean on Tre so I didn't fall over. "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God," Jade said the entire way to the backstage area. Zack was freaking out too, but Juliya kept smacking him in the head. "This is so great," I said to Tre. "You are incredible." "Thanks," he said. "I pulled as many strings as I could to make you happy." "Well, I am," I said. "I'm glad." We arrived at the back doors, where Tre handed the passes to the security guard. He counted out the number of passes and the number of people, then allowed us inside. Mikey was the first person we saw. Jade and I rushed over to him, Morgan following close behind. "Hi," Jade said. "Hi," he murmured, blinking at all of us. "I'm Dori," I said, sticking out my hand to meet him. "This is Jade and this is Morgan. We're really big MCR fans and I loved the show. It was absolutely amazing, really it was. And I'm so excited that I actually get to meet you guys. You have no idea. You're one of my favorite bands ever." Jade and Morgan were speechless, but I was doing enough talking to make up for them. "Hello," said another voice. I looked up and there was Frank Iero. I blinked at him for a few seconds. He was even hotter in person. "Oh boy," I heard Tre whisper. "This is Dori," Mikey said. "This is Jade and this is Morgan. They're really big MCR fans and they loved the show. It was apparently absolutely amazing, really it was. And they're so excited that they actually get to meet us. We have no idea. We're one of her favorite bands ever." Well, he had obviously been listening. "What?" Frank asked, blinking at Mikey for a second. Then he looked up. "Tre! Hey, what's up?" My boyfriend new Frank? And he never told me? What the fuck? "Yeah, this is my girlfriend, Dori," Tre said, guesturing to me. "Nice to meet you," Frank said, extending his hand. "Nice to meet you, too," I said. That's when I heard Jade scream. I turned around, and she was passed out on the floor. I looked around. "What happened?" I asked. "I don't know," said Gerard stepping out from the shadows. "He happened," Zack said, pointing to Gerard.

Part 24 "What happened?" Jade asked as she came to. "You saw Gerard and passed out," Morgan said. "Gerard?" she almost screamed, jumping off the floor and looking around. "Where is he?" "He went to get you some water," Sid said. Jade just blinked at all of us, as if she didn't believe it was all really happening. I was standing between Tre and Frank, watching as everyone gathered around Jade, making sure she was alright. Gerard finally appeared with a red plastic cup filled with water. "Here you go," he said, handing it to Jade. She took the cup and just stared at him. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice shaking. "What happened?" Ray asked, walking around the corner. "She passed out when she saw Gerard," Frank said, pointing to Jade. "Tre!" Ray exclaimed as he spotted him. "Seriously, how do you know MCR?" I asked. "I told you I pulled some strings," Tre said. He set his hand on my shoulder. I really wanted to know how he knew them, but it was obvious he wasn't going to tell me. "Well, we're going to head out," Frank said. "I'm exhausted and we have a huge show to play tomorrow." "Cool," Tre said. "Break a leg." The two did that manly hug-handshake thing, which was kind of weird, but whatever. Then they all headed out. "Gerard got me water," Jade said. "I will keep this cup forever." "You do that, Jade," Juliya said, seeming kind of frightened by Jade's obsessive weirdness. The security guard soon came in and told us that we had to leave, since the band was gone.
"I have a reservation," Tre said to the lady at the hotel. Billie and Mike were gathered in the common area of the hotel lobby, watching the news. Jade was on her cell phone with Nick in the corner, raving about meeting Gerard. Morgan and Sid were sitting on the couch, talking. Zack and Juliya were, well, making out in front of the hotel. "Name?" asked the woman. "Wright. With a 'w' at the beginning." She typed in the name on her computer. "Three bedrooms? Nine people?" Tre turned around and called role. "Billie, Mike, Sid, Morgan, Jade, Zack, Juliya, Dori, Tre. Yup. Nine." She nodded, then handed him the keys. He handed one to me. "You, Morgan, Jade and Juliya have to share a room. Billie, Mike and I will crash in another room, and Sid and Zack will stay in the other one." He looked at my key. "Room 435," he said alloud. "You up for a late night visitor?" "Sure," I said. Crap. This was exactly what I had been worried about earlier. "Okay. Sounds good." "I have an idea," Morgan said. "How about Zack and Juliya share a bed, Sid and I share a bed, you and Dori share a bed, and Jade and Billie and Mike can do whatever?" "Not a good idea," Billie said, walking over and looking at Zack and Juliya, who were still outside making out. "I feel bad for whoever would have to room with them." "Ew," I said, twitching a bit. The idea of Zack having sex with anybody made me sick. "True," Morgan said. "Ah, let's just go with Tre's plans." We headed up to the room the girls were going to share. Apparently my mom had packed a bag for me the day before and given it to Tre, which explained why my Clash shirt had been missing. I grabbed my toothbrush and prepared myself for bed, although I knew Tre would be by in a few minutes to get me. Juliya decided she was going to share a bed with me, since she didn't like sleeping by the door either. She was sitting on the bed, filing her nails when I finished brushing my teeth and all. Jade and Morgan were fighting over what we were going to watch. There was a knock on the door a few seconds later. I looked out through the peephole, not really being able to tell who it was. So I asked.. "Who is it?" I called, waiting for the voice of Tre. "It's Frank," said the voice of someone who was definitely not my boyfriend. I swung open the door and saw Frank from MCR standing there. "Oh my God," Morgan said, having stopped arguing with Jade and looking over. "What are...what are you doing here?" I asked. "I thought you guys were going to go sleep." "Yeah, well, Tre wanted me to come by and hang out with you," he said. "And you seemed pretty cool, so I didn't mind prolonging my sleep." "So by late night visitor, Tre didn't mean himself?" "Nope," Frank said. "You want to hang out or not?" "Sure," I said. I hadn't changed into my pajamas yet, so I was all set to go out. "Bye guys," I mumbled as I waved to everybody. "Lucky bitch," I heard Juliya say as I walked out the door. "This is weird," I said as we wandered toward the elevator. "I really wasn't expecting you." "If it's a problem, I can go get Tre," he said. "No, that's okay." I wondered if I had ever told Tre about my crush on Frank. Probably not. Otherwise Tre would be there, watching like a hawk. "Starbucks sound good?" he asked as we walked to the parking lot. "Sounds great," I said. "Which car is yours?" "This one," he said, bringing me to a black car. It looked fairly new. I climbed inside. It sure did smell new. So we started talking about music. We talked about our favorite bands, and we seemed to have a lot in common. We laughed a lot, and he told me that Bob's mom used to know Tre's mom, so in some weird, bizarre way he became friends with MCR. I wonder why he never told me. We arrived at Starbucks and laughed some more as we drank our fancy, fuzzy coffee things. "Mikey will be jealous," he said. "Why? Cause we're drinking coffee without him?" I asked. "Well, that too. But mostly cause he remarked that he thought you were hot earlier. And here I am, practically on a date with you," he laughed. "It's not a date. I'm going out with Tre." "Right," Frank said. "Not a date." His hand brushed across mine for a split second, and I really wished that it was a date.

Part 25 "I had fun," I said as we drove back to the hotel. "So did I. You know, I really like you." He didn't sound like he was hitting on me or anything, so I didn't spaz out or anything. "I like you too," I said. "Look, if anything happens with you and Tre, just let me know, okay? Cause I'll totally kick his ass." He laughed. I wasn't sure if he was kidding or not, but I laughed too. "Here, this is my phone number," he said, scribbling it onto a piece of paper once he had parked the car. "Can I have yours?" "Sure," I said, tearing off the bottom half of the paper and writing my own. "If I'm ever in Jacksonville, I'll call you, okay?" he asked. "Okay. That'd be cool," I said. "And we could hang out. Just as friends, if you're still going out with Tre," he said, laughing some more. This was an awkward conversation, but at the same time very casual. It was weird. We walked out of the car and toward the hotel. He walked me all the way to my room. "Thanks for taking me out for coffee," I said. "No problem," he murmured. "Well, I'm going to go sleep." We both laughed and he leaned forward and hugged me. He kind of kissed me on the cheek and I could feel my face burning. "See you." "Bye, Frank," I said, waving as he retreated down the hall. I dug through my pocket for my key, but before I could find it, the door flew open. "I hate you," Morgan said, eyes wide. "Why?" I asked. "You just spent four hours with Frank Iero." "Four hours?" I said in total disbelief, stepping into the room. "Finally Dori's back," Jade said. She was half asleep. "Good. Now you can all shut up and let me sleep," Juliya mumbled. I sat on the bed that Jade and Morgan were sharing. "What did you guys do?" Jade asked. "We went to Starbucks." "For four hours?" Morgan said, obviously not believing me. "Tre came by, like, six times to see if you had come back yet." I felt even worse. While I had been off flirting with a rock star, Tre had been back here worrying about me. I bit my lip and blinked at everyone. "Sorry," I said. "God, I feel like a piece of shit." "You should," Juliya growled. "You're keeping me from my sleep." "I'm going to go tell Tre I'm back," I said. "What room is he in?" "452." I thanked Morgan and Jade, then headed to the room. I knocked lightly on the door. Mike came and answered, looking tired. As soon as he saw me, he exclaimed, "Tre! She's back!" Tre came to the door. "Hey," he said. "What took so long?" "Frank and I just started talking," I said. "Sorry you were worried." "Don't be," he said. "Come on in." Their room was dark except for the glowing of the TV. Billie was asleep, strewn across one of the beds. Mike lay on a couch, not really paying attention. He was asleep within two minutes of sitting down. I lay on the other bed with Tre. His hand began wandering again. But this time I had a good reason not to do anything. "Billie and Mike are right here," I said. "Wait here," Tre said, getting up and wandering out. I sat there, waiting. He finally returned and handed me another key. "You and I have our own room now. Let's go." I blinked at him, but got up and followed as he led me to whatever room it was. I opened it and stepped in. Unlike all the other rooms which had two double beds, this one had only one king size bed. Tre shut the door, tossed the key onto the desk and pulled me into his arms, pressing his lips against mine. I was terrified. I mean, seriously, all these thoughts occured to me. What if I get pregnant? What if I regret it later? What if I'm really bad in bed and he breaks up with me because of it? We lay on the bed, making out for a while. This was my last chance. If I was going to say anything, it was going to be now. If I didn't want to do this, I would say something. Yet I was silent.

Part 26 I awoke the next morning laying next to Tre. His back was to me and I saw all sorts of huge claw marks all over his back. I suppressed a laugh, thinking back to his question of "Are you a screamer?" I could answer that now. No, but I sure am violent. I ran my hand along his back and wrapped my arms around him. I was hungry. My stomach growled loudly and Tre laughed. He was obviously awake. "Hungry?" he asked. "Very much so," I said. He sat up. "Well, it's 7:30. They stop serving continental breakfast in an hour and a half." "I should probably get dressed first," I said, grabbing my pants off the floor. I gathered my clothes and got dressed. "I'll meet you in the lobby in an hour." "Okay," he said, smiling and gathering his own clothes. I slipped out the door. I was sure I was a mess. I found the key in my pocket and opened the door to the hotel room with all the other girls in it. Morgan and Juliya were awake, but Jade was still sound asleep. "God, where were you?" Morgan asked, sounding a lot like my mother. Juliya started laughing. "What's so funny?" "Dori got laid!" Juliya exclaimed. I blushed a little. "Oh my God, you and Tre had sex?" Morgan asked. "What?" Jade almost screamed. "I thought you were asleep," Juliya commented. "You actually did it?" Jade questioned, rushing over to me. "I'm going to take a shower," I said, walking towards the bathroom. "No you're not," Morgan snapped. "Tell us what happened." "Um, well, I had sex," I said. "You little whore," Juliya laughed. She was getting a big kick out of this. "God, guys, get over it. It'll happen to you two someday too." "Yeah," I said. "I'm going to take a shower now. I'm meeting Tre in the lobby in an hour." "As long as you guys don't fuck by the waffles, I'm fine," Juliya said as I shut the bathroom door.
I sat in Tre's car as we drove back to Jacksonville. "So you got to hang out with Frank for four hours?" Zack asked from the backseat. Juliya was sitting on his lap, seeing as how she didn't have a ride back, and Billie refused to give her one. "Yeah," I said. "That wasn't all she did last night," Juliya commented. Tre looked nervously at me. "Don't give her that look, Tre," Mike laughed. "It's not like everybody doesn't know." "Doesn't know what?" Zack asked. "It was obvious. You and Dori disappeared and then when you came back in the morning you had battle wounds all over your back," Mike snorted. "Battle wounds? What happened?" "And the look on Dori's face when she walked in this morning," Juliya laughed. "Priceless." "What happened?!" Zack demanded. "They fucked!" Juliya screamed. And I felt my respect for myself decrease a couple of notches.

Part 27 Tre's car pulled into the driveway. He had dropped off Juliya first, then Zack, then Mike. "I had fun," I said. "So did I," he murmured, raising his eyebrows suggestively. I laughed and pushed him. "You're a horny beast," I said. "No, a rhinoserous is a horny beast. I'm a horny teenage boy," he said. "Same thing. Bye," I sighed, grabbing my bag and kissing him. I walked up to the front door and was greeted by my mother. "So, how was it?" she asked. As she said those words, I thought, oh shit, she knows. But then I realized she meant the concert. "It was awesome," I said, heading towards my room with my bag. "The band was so awesome. And I got to hang out with Frank." Mom nodded. "You didn't room with Tre, did you?" "No," I said. "I roomed with Jade and Morgan and Juliya." "Okay. Look, Dori, I've been meaning to talk to you," she said, following me down the hallway. "Since you have a boyfriend that's older than you, it would be a good time to talk about this. Look, most boys want nothing more than to have sex. And once you have sex with them, they usually break up with you because they got what they wanted. And if you and Tre plan on having sex, I really hope you'll tell me so I can get you some birth control or something." "Jeez, Mom," I sighed, unpacking my bag. "You make it sound like I'm the town tunnel." "I just want to make sure you could come to me and tell me anything," she said. I looked at her. She looked all concerned. I started crying. "Oh God, Mom," I sobbed. "Did you...?" I nodded, unsure of how she woudl take it. My face was hot and red from crying within a few seconds. "Oh honey," she said, coming over and hugging me.
"This is ridiculous," I said, sitting in the clinic waiting room. "You can never be too safe," Mom said. We were awaiting the results of the test Mom had made me get to make sure I wasn't pregnant or anything. I was flipping through random tabloids that sat on the table and waited. I could feel this weird old guy staring at me. Why he was at a pregnancy clinic was beyond me. "Dori?" asked a nurse. "Yes?" I said, looking up. "Could you come with me?" I nodded and followed her, my mother coming as well. I sat down in a chair and the nurse looked at some papers. "You're lucky. You're not pregnant, and you have no STDs or signs of HIV. But we want to do a follow up in two months to make sure. Did you use protection?" "Yeah," I said. She smiled. "Good. Alright, you can go schedule the follow up at the desk." We nodded. Mom patted me on the back. It was weird that she was being all supportive and stuff. It also felt weird because Tre had no idea that any of this was going on. I wondered whether or not I should tell him. Oh well. What he doesn't know can't hurt him.

Part 28 Friday was day one of the three day weekend. It was some sort of teacher planning day, so we had no school. Adam, my youth minister, had invited the kids of our church to come hang out and play video games all day. I had invited Tre, and he of course accepted. He wasn't big on church, so I wasn't expecting for him to say yes. But he liked video games, and since he assumed we wouldn't be playing "Super Jesus Adventures 2", he decided to come with me. I opened the door of the fellowship hall and stopped walking when I heard Zack talking. "Yeah, so her mom took her to this clinic to make sure she wasn't pregnant or anything. I still can't believe that she told her mom she had sex." I blinked, then looked around the corner. Zack was talking to Adam, who was playing with Legos, and Tucker, a member of my youth group. And he was telling them about this. I was pissed. But before I could run in, Tre grabbed me and looked at me. "Are they talking about you?" he whispered. I nodded. "You told your mom?" "It's a long story," I said. "But yeah. Pretty much." "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked. I shrugged. He sighed. "Are you mad?" "No. I just wish you would've told me," he said. "I'm fine. Let's go." He guestured toward the room and I entered. "Zack, are you talking about me?" "Shit," he whispered. "Zack! Watch your mouth!" Adam exclaimed. Tucker started laughing. But it wasn't funny. This was almost like Zack wanted me to get mad at him. "I didn't tell you about that stuff so you could go tell the youth group!" I practically screamed. "It's okay, Dori. We won't tell anybody," Tucker said. "That's beside the point," I sighed. "God, Zack." "Sorry." "You guys probably think I'm a whore now," I mumbled, sitting on the floor. Tre sat next to me and ran his hand over my back. "You're not," he said. "Hi, I'm Adam. You must be Tre." The introduction was rather random. "Yeah. Nice to meet you. I can only imagine what you've heard about me," he said, looking at Zack, who flinched. I just shook my head. I would get over this, I guess. I wasn't going to ruin my day with that. Tre seemed fine with it. I should be too. "I'm...I'm going to go to the Gate station," I said. "Anyone want to go with me?" There was a Gate gas station in front of my church where we normally went for sodas and stuff. "Sure," Tre said. Tucker volunteered as well. "So," I sighed as we walked across the parking lot. "What else did Zack tell you guys about my personal life?" "Not much," Tucker said. "Pretty much just that. But it's okay, Dori, don't worry about it." "Yeah, it's fine," Tre said, slipping his arm around my shoulders as we walked into the station. I headed to the back and poured myself an Icee. The Icee began overflowing from the cup and all over the floor. Tre handed me some napkins. I began to suck up the leftover Icee that spewed from the top. Tucker started laughing. "What?" I asked, cleaning up the plastic cup with some napkins. "After what Zack told me, I will never be able to watch you suck anything without laughing," he said. Tre started laughing too, and I covered the Icee-covered napkins at both of them.
