Chapter One
Tre hopped out of bed practically shaking with excitement. Today him, Billie Joe, and Mike were all going out to eat at what Billie described as a "great guys night out." Mike commented "a bar with hot chicks." Tre just couldn't wait to drink a little. For once he was free to hang with the guys, and for once while they were hanging out, he wouldn't be on the drums, Billie Joe wouldn't be playing guitar, and Mike wouldn't be on his bass. Tre pulled off his pants and then searched around in his bozers for his black shorts. Finding them in the last place he looked Tre pulled them on with a jump and a twist. Next a belt. His studded black belt was hanging on his bed post as always. That was about the only thing he never had to search for while getting ready in the morning. Quickly he put it on and then opened a drawer to get out his old 4-H tee shirt. Without his shirt pulled down entirely, Tre headed downstairs to grab some breakfast. An old Eggo waffle was in the toaster and that was good enough. Putting it in his mouth, Tre darted over to his black Converses. With a few fast motions they were on and tied. Ready to go was Tre.
"Now where are my keys?" Tre scratched his green hair covered head and ran over to the couch. Sticking his hand between the cushions his facial expression changed as he felt various objects. "There we are," he pulled out the keys and then twirled them around his finger whistling as he walked out to his car.
Tre hopped into the driver's seat and then started up the car. The radio came on immediately with blasting, Dancing With Myself. He actually knew the words to this song so he began belting out.
"Oh dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself
Well there's nothing to lose
And there's nothing to prove
I'll be dancing with myself..."
Within a few moments though Tre had pulled into Mike's driveway where Billie Joe and Tre were supposed to meet before they went out. Dancing With Myself ended and then a sucky song came on so there was no point to sit in the car anymore. Besides, Billie was already here, and he hoped Mike was here, it being his house and all.
Tre turned off the car and then slammed the door shut right before running up to the door. He welcomed himself in and then called for Mike or Billie.
"MICHAEL? BILLIE JOE?"
"KITCHEN, TRE!" Billie Joe's strong vocal voice sung out from the right most room in the whole house. Tre ran down the hall, made a left, then a right, then another right to stop on the black and white checkered floor right infront of Mike who was most likely going to see if Tre had gotten lost.
"Congratulations," the bassist said and then grabbed Tre's shoulder to guide him over to the kitchen table where Billie Joe was leaning over a lap top.
"Well, buddy," Billie said and Tre could immediately tell that Mike and him had been planning something for Tre while he wasn't there. "We've decided what kind of girl we're gonna find you!"
"A pretty one?" Tre was scared.
"Well, duh," Mike said and then snatched the lap top from under Billie Joe's nose. "This girl!"
Tre read the website page slowly. The top of it said,
"LONDON CALLING BAR." That's the place that they were going to go to today.
"What girl?" Tre said confused. There was no picture or anything on the page.
"Oops," Mike turned the computer back to him and then scrolled down a bit to the staff pictures. "This girl, right here." He pointed to a picture.
The girl was standing behind the bar with a wash cloth in her hand. She was wiping down the pictures when this photographer decided to take some shots. Her hair was a ginger just like his, only a little redder and the ends of it were dyed a neon lime green. Just like his! Her eyes were a dark brown. She bared a few freckles but that was attractive for Tre and they looked good on her. The girl's smile was captivating and she truely did look like she was having fun. Her mouth was open and her head was titled back slightly, showing Tre that she was one to laugh. She was really pretty. Below the photo Tre read, "MORGANA: BARTENDER, FRI-SUN."
"She's perty," Tre said still looking at the picture.
Mike smirked and Billie Joe made his way over to see her again.
"Good thing it's Friday finally," Billie said and then turned to Tre. "So man, what do you say?"
Tre didn't say anything for a while but then he noticed a note at the bottom. "Billie! Mike!" He pointed to a spot on the screen. "She's in a band! And they're playing next week! We have to go!"
"REALLY?!" the other two asked simutaniously.
"Yeah," Tre said amazed. "I wonder what she plays?"
"Bass. Definetly," Mike said, "Isn't it obvious?"
"No, she seems to be one of those no-instrument-vocalists," Billie said.
"We'll just have to find out!" Tre said excitedly and looked at the clock, "C'mon guys!" He spun around and grabbed Mike's keys off of the refrigerator. Flinging them at his friend Tre smiled and couldn't be happier.
Mike and Billie were seated in the front of Mike's car while Tre was in the back. Mike said that if Tre sat up front that the air bag would somehow deploy. Tre didn't understand. He just wanted to get to the London Calling Bar and meet Morgana.
Mike pulled out of the driveway slowly and cautiously and then went on a grandpa speed to the bar.
"Do you think you can go any faster?" Tre mummbled as his knee shook up and down with energy.
"I'm going the speed limit," Mike said through clenched teeth. Maybe next time Billie should drive.
"Mike, do you wanna pull over and switch seats?" Billie Joe offered.
"No. I'm fine," Mike swerved a tiny bit to miss a squirrel.
"Jay-walker," Tre commented.
Finally, the trio had arived at the bar. Through the window they were able to see flashing multi-colored lights and the big oak bar at the far end of the place. Immediately, a girl with ginger and green hair caught Tre's eye. It was Morgana, most definetly.
Mike got out of the car first and then unlocked the child safety switch on Tre's door. Billie Joe had already hopped out and was in the bar.
"Well, Tre, here we are," Mike smirked slightly and then walked into the bar. Tre followed right behind the bassist like a little kid, until Mike began following some burnette around.
At the other end of the room Morgana leaned against the wooden bar, trying her best not to jump over and run into the big crowd of headbanging punks. Tre watched the flouresent lights twinkle in her eyes and the spot light blind her temporarily sometimes. She looked extremely bored, and with nobody at the bar to tend to, Tre found this to be the perfect time for him to stumble into Morgana.
Only suffering from a few hits to the head and one in the ribs that the crazed crowed had inflicted upon Tre while jumping and moshing to Fourty Boys In Fourty Nights, he finally made his way to the bar. Silently he took a seat at the end, not wanting to seem too approachful. But what if Morgana was the type that liked to be approached? What if she already had a boyfriend? Tre's eyes went wide and he spun in his seat to try and find Mike or Billie Joe. They hadn't figured out if she was available!
Billie was immediately spotted on the stage, getting ready to take a dive. Mike was over at one of the circular tabled still trying his best with the burnette. Nobody in the bar looked like they were interested in Morgana luckily.
Alright, Tre concluded, she's single...
